Graphical Display of the Netlist

WEETECH includes Circuit Diagrams into its Test Systems

Allows for quick localization of failures

The CEETIS Programming and Testing Software for WEETECH’s high voltage testers shows the defined circuit diagrams of a unit under test on mouse click and makes the localization of failures easier.

Wertheim. WEETECH added the option to show circuit diagrams graphically to its CEETIS Programming and Testing Software. At any time the inspector can now display the defined electrical circuits of the units under test (UUT). This helps to identify components and to find failures easily.

When testing wiring or electronic sub-assemblies desired connections are validated for their continuity, short circuits are excluded and the correct assembly with electrical components are confirmed. Therefore the inspector is provided with specific test programs. He often has only access to those functions and data that are relevant for the specific test. Source code, electrical circuit diagrams or detailed information about the UUT are often not available during testing.

In case a UUT doesn’t pass an electrical test, the failure needs to be located based on the test results. If this information is only available in form of records searching for the defect inside of the UUT can be an extensive and time-consuming effort.

CEETIS now offers the possibility to show net lists in the way of classic circuit diagrams. Therefore the inspector marks an individual element in the classic net list table, in the test protocol or in the source code of the test program. Via mouse click or short cut the circuit diagram of the respective sub-network can be displayed. The starting point can be freely chosen. Searching for specific wires or components is also possible. The inspector can locate failures fast and easily in the UUT by looking into the graphical display.

In addition the probe’s functionality has been expanded: touching a component or a wire, the respective sub-network is shown including all connections and components. Correct desired connections are shown blue, open connections yellow and additionally found connections (short circuits) red. Failures are immediately visible and can be found easily in the UUT and eliminated.

WEETECH designed failure location more efficient. The Wertheim team underlines its leading position in the market for cable and functional test systems. With its technical innovations it helps its customers to ensure the quality of their products reliably and efficiently.
