At WEETECH „sense" is used for the wire that connects measurement units (e.g. VMU) with the component inside the unit under test (UUT).

Depending on the measurement method (two-terminal or four-terminal measurement), they are merged inside the test systems (two-terminal measurement) or directly at the resistor to be measured (four-terminal measurement). By using the four-terminal measurement internal transition resistances and resistivities in the adaption—both influencing the test results—are eliminated.

In addition to the sense wire a force wire is used to connect the two terminals of a generator via the respective test point and the adaption with the connection points of the UUT.
