Rail

Automated electrical test systems for rail vehicles & signalling technology

WEETECH is your technology partner for safety-critical, automated electrical testing in rail technology and the rail industry. From driver’s cabs and train segments to and signalling (CCS) and points and crossings (S&C), we support manufacturers and suppliers during production and testing.

As specialists in electrical testing, we ensure that wiring, components and functions are tested reliably, reproducibly and with full documentation – where failures are simply not an option

What sets us apart:

  • Understanding of the application: In-depth process and industry knowledge of rail vehicles, signalling technology and safety-critical testing processes.
  • Modular & scalable test systems: individually configurable in terms of the number and arrangement of test points, high-voltage withstand capability, functionality, adaptation interfaces and system architecture – expandable to suit specific applications, even for complex test objects and large-scale testing
  • CEETIS – Test Software:
  • Automated test programme generation, data transfer, traceability, MES/ERP integration and audit-proof logging – flexible to accommodate a wide range of variants and customer-specific requirements.
  • Implementation of the test specification through to the final test report
  • Proven globally: in use at leading OEMs and suppliers

Your benefits at a glance:

  • Faster, more efficient test processes
  • Targeted fault identification and clear fault allocation
  • Sustainable quality assurance with traceable documentation

Signalling technology is the backbone of safe railway operations. WEETECH tests electrical connections, assemblies and functional chains both trackside and in conjunction with higher-level systems.

What we test:

  • Signal boxes & control cabinets
  • Points & track technology (S&C): actuators, interlocking, detection/feedback, control systems
  • Level crossing safety systems: barriers, traffic lights, monitoring systems

Application Scenarios – Signalling Technology:

  • Development & laboratory tests (prototype/EVT, DVT) – from sub-assemblies to control cabinets, I/O simulation & functional chains.
  • Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) – wiring & functionality, including automated logging.
  • On-site acceptance tests (SAT) – tests in conjunction with higher-level systems.
  • S&C end-of-line & field tests – drive, interlocking, detection, control, feedback.
  • Level crossing safety systems – wiring and functionality of barriers, lights and monitoring.
  • Troubleshooting & re-tests – portable testers, guided diagnostics.
  • Repeat tests & maintenance – scheduled re-qualification, including documentation.

Your benefits at a glance:

  • Traceable, secure test procedures
  • Rapid fault-finding & guided (re-)tests on site
  • Mobile & stationary testing directly at the installation site
  • Quick and easy test programme management
  • High-voltage and low-voltage tests
  • Electrical connection and wiring tests
  • Insulation tests
  • Component tests (e.g. relays, R/C/L components)
  • Functional testing of complete assemblies and systems
  • Tests on interlocking, signalling and points control systems
  • Tests on switchboards, control cabinets and computer cabinets
  • Modular high-voltage test systems (up to 5,100 V DC / 3,600 V AC * as standard) for cable and functional testing of electrical circuits, components, train parts and complete trains*
  • Distributed test point matrix: Simple and flexible adaptation of assemblies, carriages and trains via test-object-proximate adaptation interfaces.
  • Expandable: Matrix cases & expansion units as required
  • Precise & handy: shorter adaptation cables, weight-optimised matrix cases
  • Compact & portable: portable testers for functional testing at the installation site (e.g. driver’s cabs, electrical inter-car connections, control cabinets)
