With the RLC measurement electrical components can be measured in detail. It is also known as LCR measurement.
Many electrical tests (e.g. low voltage test, open test, short test) can be performed from any test system. Other tests (e.g. high voltage test, insulation test, HV-AC test, HV-DC test) require special test systems.
For the RLC measurement a special, optional measuring unit is mandatory to determine resistance (R), inductance (L) and capacitance (C).
By measuring current and voltage at the same time (alternate current / alternate voltage) and within a given frequency the component can be determined:
The RLC measurement is used for complex component tests, like the measurement of two-terminal devices matching a combination of resistive, capacitive and inductive loads.
