There are no specific, authoritative standards for test systems or the electrical test (e.g. cable test, open test, short test, functional test, component test). The integration into existing standards occurs after careful consideration and review by the producers themselves.

The generally accepted industry standards and norms are of course taken into account. Thereby technical standards must be met, which govern the bringing to market of the tester itself, as well as standards that govern the operation and safety in the workplace (see safety circuit).

Test systems from WEETECH always comply with the "safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use" (DIN EN 61010). This way they fulfil all requirements for a CE-marking (conformity) and at the same time they get the free marketability for the European Single Market.
Moreover all systems comply with the EMV directive (2004/108/EG) "Electromagnetic Compatibility" (of electrical and electronic products).

In the course of workplace safety, DIN EN ISO 13849 regulating the "safety of machinery—safety-related parts of control systems" as well as DIN EN ISO 50191 "erection and operation of electrical test equipment" are met.

Additionally other norms and standards depending on specific customers, models or applications need to be met individually.

There is no common standard for the cable test in the automotive industry. Nevertheless, the individual standards from the respective car manufacturer need to be considered.

Furthermore, of course, the quality standards of a DIN EN ISO 9001 certification need to be considered. They may include logging of test results per unit under test (UUT), storing in a database and analysing in statistics.
